9. Scripting

ChronoScan can be automated with scripts at two levels: event scripts inside a job (run when a batch is imported, processed, validated or exported, or when a field changes) and standalone scripts run from the command line with -vbs. Scripts are written in VBScript or in PowerShell (job_Script.ps1 and global.ps1, with a timeout per job); the language is selected in the script editor. In ChronoScan Enterprise the job scripts can also be edited from the web administration with the ChronoScript editor.
This section documents the objects available to the scripts: the application (ChronoApp), the batch (ChronoBatch), the document (ChronoDocument), the document type, the fields (UserField, and BatchField for batch fields), the job (ChronoJob), the customizable buttons (UserButton), the external data viewer and the geolocation API. See Objects for the list and the events in which each object exists, and Scripting - Sample VBScripts for examples.
You can also explore the scripting objects online in the ChronoScan VBS Explorer.
