2.1. System requirements

Processor:	Intel i7/Xeon processor, or equivalent; Recommended: processor with 4 processing cores or more*
System Memory:	4 GB or more
Disk Space:	1.5 GB for program files and more for temporary files**
Operating System:	Any of the following are supported operating systems***: Windows Server 2022 Windows Server 2019 Windows Server 2016 Windows 11 Windows 10 Windows Server 2012 R2 Windows 8.1 Windows Server 2012 Windows 8 Windows Server 2008 Windows 7

* Having more cores will decrease processing time for OCR tasks, for the PROFESSIONAL version only 2 cores will be used

** Depending on the application more space will be needed

*** The listed operating systems are supported in 32 and 64 bit flavours

Software requirements

Windows 10 or Windows 11, or Windows Server 2016 or newer. ChronoScan is available as a 32-bit and a 64-bit application; use the same bitness for the Nuance OCR Plug-In, ODBC/OLE DB drivers and the TWAIN driver of your scanner.
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 (already included in Windows 11, Windows Server 2022 and Windows 10 version 1903 or later).
Microsoft Visual C++ 2022 Redistributable: installed automatically by the ChronoScan installer when it is missing.
Internet connection: required to activate licenses, to check the maintenance status during installation and updates, and for the cloud services (Google Vision OCR, generative AI through the ChronoScan HUB).
Optional: Nuance OCR Plug-In (separate installer, 32-bit or 64-bit), Microsoft Access Database Engine for Access/Excel lookups and lists (included in the 64-bit installer), Ghostscript for the Ghostscript PDF export module.
ChronoScan Enterprise additionally needs SQL Server 2016 or newer; see the Enterprise manual.
